Fall Into Fashion With HSN

When it comes to affordable plus size fashion, some people tend to forget about HSN. There seems to be this stigma with home shopping that people just need to let go. I first learned about HSN when I purchased one of my favorite leather jackets from Terry Lewis. Sadly, Terry is no longer with the network and I wish she would come back because, for fall, I would often buy a new leather or suede piece from her line, Classic Luxuries.

HSN continues with spotlighting great designers and being on trend. Browsing the site, HSN has some seriously great fall fashion finds for this season and, with an added bonus of cash back for shopping online, what’s not to love, right?  So, without further adieu, here are some of my favorite fall fashion pieces:

Fall Into Fashion With HSN ~ Fashionista+

1. I wasted no time in snapping up this Metallic Tweed Jacket with Leather Trim from American Glamour Badgley Mischka. I loved the look which would look great over a nice dress or rocked with a pair of jeans.

2. I adore the leather detailing on this burgundy pencil skirt from IMAN Platinum Collection. I know – I tend to shy away from celebrity branded fashion but, with HSN, I do sometimes make an exception.

3. Speaking of burgundy, I also adore this buttery soft lamb leather blazer from IMAN. The burnt out details on the lapels – to die for!

4. For me, for fall & winter, I really would love to add some more winter white and creams to the wardrobe. I love the look of these ponte knit wide-leg pants from Jeffrey Banks that I’d probably add a touch of animal print to with his leopard print blouse.

5. Speaking of animal print (which is always big for fall – and with Jersey housewives), this sassy Animal Print Dress with Sequin Shoulders is definitely eye catching. Keep the rest of the look neutral though with some classic nude stilettos.

6. Tiana B. is one of my favorite dress designers. I have a few of her pieces in the wardrobe and they always look fantastic. This “Check Me Out” Houndstooth Print Dress will definitely garner attention. I love how they paired it with lovely long red gloves.

7. I’m also loving this Tiana B. “What a Classic” faux shrug dress in a gorgeous plum color.

8. This DG2 Kimono Sleeve Dress is definitely a show-stopper. I can’t decide between the red and the black color. What would you choose?

9. The DG2 drapey handkerchief hem top can be worn year round and I love the look of the mustard yellow shade. Reviewers have said that this top can run a bit big and boxy so you might want to size down a bit.

10. Finally, it looks like maxi lengths are not going away any time soon. I really like the look of this bronze maxi sweater skirt by American Glamour Badgley Mischka. Paired with some fab boots and a sensational top and you’ll be ready for winter!

Have you ever shopped at HSN before?

Fall Into Fashion With Eloquii

I can’t rave enough about Eloquii by The Limited. Even though they have been open for a short time, I can say that every purchase I have made from them (and it’s been a lot), has lasted me and they are all still in rotation today. The pieces have been quality, the look is trendy and timeless and always polished.

When I opened their lookbook to see what is new in their fall fashion, can I say, my wallet is screaming in pain at the moment. There are so many exciting pieces that you have got to see!

1. Lace is one of those trends that really never goes away and the lace skirt with an exposed zipper has some definite wow factor. I’d probably pair it with Eloquii’s contrast tie blouse and some fabulous sky high stilettos.

2. This contrast trim dress in navy & white will garner attention! Much like I suggested in another post, you can always swap out the belt to change the look.

3. The riding cardigan is the perfect staple to any plus size fashionista’s wadrobe. My favorite – the camel shade paired with the stand soft collar shirt. So classic!

4. Another favorite that will be in my wardrobe this fall – this jadeite jacket. Paired with some wide leg pants, a nice shell and some cap toe heels, all eyes will be on you!

5. The blue and black trend is huge this fall and Eloquii has a flattering cowl neck color block tunic that would look fabulous over some skinny jeans or even their faux leather leggings.

6. Another big trend – burgundy – lots and lots of burgundy. Eloquii has a gorgeous pair of burgundy colored denim that hits the trend perfectly!

7. This rich caramel hue in their faux leather pencil skirt is perfect for fall. Pair it with a great blouse and some knee high boots and you are ready to take charge.

8. This mustard toggle coat is a coat that will be perfect for fall & winter. I really love the detailing on it.

9. A number of my dress pants are from Eloquii and they wear well, look fabulous and, quite frankly, the black stays black! I hate when things fade and look like they’ve been to hell and back after only two or three washes. I will be adding a pair or two of these curvy slim bootcut pants to the wardrobe this season.

10. Finally, you can’t escape peplum this season and Eloquii has a gorgeous cobalt and black peplum shell that would look fabulous paired with a pencil skirt or a straight leg pant.

Eloquii is having a killer sale too. For 30% off on all new arrivals, pants jeans and skirts you can use the code 30DEAL.

Are there any items from Eloquii that are on your “must have now” list?

Yay or Nay: DKNYC’s Sleeveless Faux Leather Lace Dress

When scouring through the online pages at Macy*s for the Fall Into Fashion with Macy*s post, I stumbled upon this Sleeveless Faux Leather Lace Dress from DKNYC. I know there’s a whole big leather/lace trend right now but I was on the fence on whether or not it would make the fall fashion obsessions.

So my question to you is:

Yay or Nay and, if it is definitely an obsess worthy piece, what would you rock it with?

Fall Into Fashion With Macys

First – before I forget – my apologies to those that dropped by to check out the Fall Fashion from Lane Bryant and the site had some “technical difficulties”. Rest assured – I hope that never happens again and have had more than a few CTJ sessions with the hosting provider. Let’s just say that, after all of this drama, I’m ready for a Bourbon Cider Twist, one of my favorite fall cocktails.

However, now that I’m not seeing red anymore, let’s dive into the Fall Fashion that is starting to arrive at Macy*s, shall we? This gal needs to get a little virtual shopping in.

1. I am obsessed with this Lauren by Ralph Lauren Split-Sleeve Jersey Sheath dress – perfect for year round. It is a bit of an investment but I do know that I have never bought anything from Lauren Ralph Lauren that hasn’t been quality. I will be on the hunt for cash back and coupons tho to alleviate my wallet’s pain.

2. Navy is going to be big this fall (along with burgundy) and AGB’s short sleeve sheath will be able to keep you on trend without breaking the bank. Love the neckline! For a more posh look, you can swap out the belt. I rarely use the belts that come with an outfit.

3. SL Fashions will have you dancin’ the night away with this fun Short-Sleeve Metallic Fringe Blouson Dress. Side note: this dress can also do double-duty for a flapper costume for Halloween.

4. INC’s Short Sleeve Cowl Neck Sweater in metallic blue would be great to sass up the wardrobe!

5. The bright raspberry color of this Faux Wrap Top from Jones New York Signature would be perfect to punch up the fall/winter wardrobe. Plus – there’s nothing wrong with injecting a little color into one’s life (or closet).

6. Another color that I love for fall is spice. Alfani has a gorgeous draped top with three quarter length sleeves and zipper detailing that will definitely garner attention. If you want something with a bit more muted color, it also comes in a deep shade of blue.

7. I’m not much of a print gal, but there is something captivating about this Long Sleeve Leaf Print Cardigan from Charter Club. Paired with a nice pair of bootcut jeans, ankle boots and a white draped shell, you’d be all set for Casual Friday.

8. I’m on the fence about INC International Concepts’ Draped Blazer. I do think it would be a nice pop of color for the 9to9. What do you think?

9. For a great raincoat, check out this Quilted Trench Style Raincoat from DKNY – I’m really loving the “midnight” version, but it also comes in shades of black and sand.

10. This Jones New York Faux Leather Plus Size Jacket in Admiral Navy is the hotness! I have a blue leather jacket that has seen better days and might retired soon. If so, I know this jacket would be a great replacement!

Did any of these pieces strike your fancy? Tell me!

Fall Into Fashion With Coldwater Creek

I learned a valuable lesson this weekend – quality trumps quantity. Technically, I learned it while cooking a recipe but when I’m looking at the quality of the tools I use to cook dishes, I should apply the same lessons to my wardrobe as well, right?  My goal this year is to invest in good QUALITY pieces that will stand the test of time. I want more than one season out of a piece if possible and, as y’all are my witness, I vow to be ruthless in my closet and get rid of those pieces that really are just taking up valuable real estate and replace them with items that will be loved often!

Coldwater Creek has some great classic quality pieces that will last me more than just the fall season. Plus – with 4% cash back from Mr. Rebates and a killer sale going on (25% off full priced items through Aug. 23rd), this gal will be doing a bit of shopping today. Here’s what fall fashion has caught my eye that would be the perfect addition to any plus size fashionista’s wardrobe.

Fall Into Fashion With Coldwater Creek ~ Fashionista+
1. When this Windsor plaid trench coat caught my eye, I lost my breath for a second. I knew then and there I had to have it and, as y’all are my witness, this lovely WILL be in my closet this fall.

2. A must for the fashionable plus-size wardrobe – a good tweed blazer. It always looks snazzy with a crisp white blouse and you can dress it up with black trousers or dress it down with some boot cut jeans and snazzy boots. My choice, this Foxfield Tweed Blazer – it’s timeless!

3. This multi swing cardigan is another one that is coming home with me. I love anything that is teal but, if teal is not your color, they also have it in brown and red.  This is a cozy look that will go through a few seasons.

4. In my quest for a good white shirt for fall, I really like this diamond tuck no-iron shirt. The pattern has a bit of sass to it, imo. Of course Coldwater Creek has you covered with the basic white no-iron shirt as well.

5. Remember how I said that I had an issue in Florida buying leather skirts & jackets? Well, the same was for those warm cozy cable knit sweaters. You know the ones where you curl up and read a good book while snuggled in one? Coldwater Creek has a great Cableknit Sweater that is also being added to the wardrobe. (At the rate I’m shopping for F/W 2012 – the SousPug better start charging everyone for kisses!)

6. Another sweater that has me captivated: this softspun merino mix cardigan in this rich midnight purple. There’s a host of other colors and they do have the matching merino mix tanks to go with. I love how they paired this cardi with the Color Diffusion Shell (which also comes in teal). Hmm… looks like I’ll be getting a couple different colors then.

7. Fall also means adding some herringbone to the wardrobe. I love these studio pant curvy herringbone trousers. So classic!

8. I love the mix of teals and browns in this colorful bouclé pencil skirt. Want something with a bit of a red hue? They have a rose hued version as well.

9. There’s a reason why Coldwater Creek calls this dress Simple Perfection and I can see why – it is beyond flattering, looks sharp and all eyes will be on you. Even Clinton and Stacy couldn’t argue with that reasoning.

10. Finally, I really adore this elegant pleated dress that is not only timeless but modern. I think Clinton & Stacy would approve this as well.

When it comes to plus size clothing, what do you go for – quality or quantity? Have you found any retailers that deliver both? Tell me!
